Arguably the most significant (and photographed) bridge in the world. Over the course of the past dozen years, I have spent many days and nights exploring the light and landscape of this very dynamic landmark. Chasing the fog became an obsession - I would wake up in the middle of the night to listen for the faint haunting sounds of the fog horns - and upon hearing them head out into the night, only to return after the sun had risen.
During the construction of the bridge (from 1933-1937), the lives of 19 men were saved by a safety net below the bridge... these men became know as the "Half-Way-to-Hell Club".
