“Pop Art Portraits” is the first collection from Tyler Shields. It consists of 10 of his most signature portraits with 10 variations of each via colors and textures in the style of Warhol’s iconic pop art. 
Using a custom technique these photographs were physically screen printed and scanned. 
These images were shot over the last 10 years of Tyler's career and after living in galleries around the world they were destined for the digital renaissance.

"Fireworks" is the fifth and last piece of Johan Lolos' genesis NFT series "Hálendið". Hálendið, which means "Highlands" in Icelandic, is a photography series of 5 pieces that are a tribute to the painting-like landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands. Ever since Johan first visited this part of the world he has been amazed by the huge diversity of colors that can be found in the Highlands. The unparalleled contrasts and shapes of the Hálendið make this region of Iceland so unique in the whole world, to the point it becomes almost surreal to any visitor. 

This particular piece is an aerial image of Landmannalaugar, shot from a Cessna aircraft in June 2017, as part of Johan's Peaks of Europe photography project. It is a celebration of the multi-million colored landscape of the Icelandic highlands, as well as the apotheosis of this genesis collection. The grand finale with colorful fireworks to end the collection, and an image that loops back to the Genesis piece: "Explosion of Colors". Indeed, this shot was taken in the same area as the genesis piece, but shows a very different angle.

With this collection, Johan's goal was to confuse the viewer when first looking at the image. In the first seconds, most people won’t understand what they’re looking at, until they realize this is just the beauty of Mother Nature.

** As with all the pieces from the Hálendið collection, all collectors will have exclusive early access to future drops. They’re also eligible to receive the 1st limited edition out of 7 of a signed and framed physical print of the image they collected. FIREWORKS

Big Daddy is the tallest dune in Namibia's world famous Sossusvlei area. This magnificent dune is situated between Sossusvlei and Deadvlei and at 325 meters it dwarfs the other dunes. Taken from a helicopter flight at sunset, this image shows 3 people hiking down along the ridge of Big Daddy, giving a proper sense of scale of how big the dune is, with Deadvlei (which translates to Dead Valley) in the background. Famous for its iconic 1000-year old trees, Deadvlei is a white clay pan that changes color during the day as the sun is setting. 

The Sossuvlei/Deadvlei area has inspired photographers from all around the world for decades. Yet, when I visited, I was looking for a different angle than the traditional ones that I knew from this place. Featuring both Big Daddy and Deadvlei on the same image, I'm very excited to share one of my favorite pieces from my Namibia body of work.

From Big Daddy, with love by Johan Lolos #5/6

"Rhyolite" is the second piece of Johan Lolos' genesis NFT series "Hálendið". Hálendið, which means "Highlands" in Icelandic, is a photography series of 5 pieces that are a tribute to the painting-like landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands. 
Ever since Johan first visited this part of the world he has been amazed by the huge diversity of colors that can be found in the Highlands. The unparalleled contrasts and shapes of the Hálendið make this region of Iceland so unique in the whole world, to the point it becomes almost surreal to any visitor. 

This particular piece is an aerial image of Landmannalaugar, shot from a Cessna aircraft. While the dominant color of this photo clearly is brown/orange, one can observe the patches of light green spread across the image. This is due to the high amount of rhyolite, which the mountains of this area are made of.  Rhyolite is an extrusive igneous rock, formed from magma rich in silica that is extruded from a volcanic vent to cool quickly on the surface rather than slowly in the subsurface. Most rhyolites are uniform in texture, and their color ranges from gray to light-pink, depending on the striations made by the lava flow. Natural rhyolite displays green, cream and occasional brown tones with patterns and inclusions.

The very first time Johan went to Landmannalaugar, he just couldn't believe his eyes. Was it real? Was it a dream? Why did those mountains look like paintings? His obsession with the Icelandic Highlands never stopped, to the point that they became his favorite landscapes to photograph.

Rhyolite

"Explosion of Colors" is Johan Lolos' genesis piece and is part of his genesis NFT series "Hálendið" which means "Highlands" in Icelandic. 

"Hálendið" is a photography series of 5 pieces that are a tribute to the painting-like landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands.

Ever since Johan first visited this part of the world he has been amazed by the huge diversity of colors that can be found in the Highlands. The unparalleled contrasts and shapes of the Hálendið make this region of Iceland so unique in the whole world, to the point it becomes almost surreal to any visitor.

This particular piece is an aerial image of Landmannalaugar, shot from a Cessna aircraft. The unique colors found in that place are completely natural, a result of local geothermal activity. The very first time Johan went to Landmannalaugar, he just couldn't believe his eyes. Was it real? Was it a dream? Why did those mountains look like paintings? His obsession with the Icelandic Highlands never stopped, to the point that they became his favorite landscapes to photograph. 

"Explosion of Colors" is Johan Lolos' second most popular image of all time. It was first featured in his debut book Peaks of Europe (2018), and has been sold to multiple clients and magazines ever since.

Explosion of Colors

"Fumaroles" is the third piece of Johan Lolos' genesis NFT series "Hálendið". 

Hálendið, which means "Highlands" in Icelandic, is a photography series of 5 pieces that are a tribute to the painting-like landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands. 
Ever since Johan first visited this part of the world he has been amazed by the huge diversity of colors that can be found in the Highlands. 
The unparalleled contrasts and shapes of the Hálendið make this region of Iceland so unique in the whole world, to the point it becomes almost surreal to any visitor. 

This particular piece is a photograph of the Kerlingarfjöll mountains, a small mountain range situated in the Icelandic Highlands that are part of an active volcanic system, as it can be seen in the image with the presence of many steam fumaroles. The orange/brown color is a result of the high amount of rhyolite, a volcanic rock, which the Kerlingarfjöll mountains are made of. 

What makes this piece so special to Johan is that he took it in 2017, as part of his "Peaks of Europe" photo project, before this place became very popular amongst landscape photographers. In 2017, Johan stumbled upon one image of Kerlingarfjöll, making him want to add this location for his project. When he visited the place in June 2017 for the first time, he had no expectation of any kind. It's only when he started to hike through this magnificent landscape that he quickly realized how unique and photogenic this place was, not to mention how much it looked like a giant painting.
He spent the whole day trying to capture it from every angle, but none of the photos he took really gave justice to how majestic those mountains were. After a few hours of pure solitude in this remote part of Iceland though, two hikers appeared out of nowhere. This was it. Luckily, Johan was standing at the perfect place with his camera to capture both the atmosphere of Kerlingarfjöll and its majesty, thanks to those hikers who gave a perfect sense of scale. 
Kerlingarfjöll means "Old Lady Mountains" in Icelandic.

Fumaroles

"Blue Veins" is the fourth piece of Johan Lolos' genesis NFT series "Hálendið".
Hálendið, which means "Highlands" in Icelandic, is a photography series of 5 pieces that are a tribute to the painting-like landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands. Ever since Johan first visited this part of the world he has been amazed by the huge diversity of colors that can be found in the Highlands. The unparalleled contrasts and shapes of the Hálendið make this region of Iceland so unique in the whole world, to the point it becomes almost surreal to any visitor. 

This is the first image of the Hálendið collection that was taken in 2019, two years after Johan's Peaks of Europe photography project. Yet, this particular image had been first thought in 2017. Johan was supposed to fly over the area of Iceland where the braided glacial rivers are, but the weather didn't allow. After multiple other unsuccessful trials, all due to the bad weather conditions, it was on May 2019 that Johan was finally able to fly in a Cessna above those rivers. This particular one, Þjórsá, is Iceland's longest river and has its source on the glacier Hofsjökull. Although the river flows out through narrow gorges in the Hálendið region, this image wasn't shot in the Highlands but at an altitude of zero meter above sea level. Indeed, this shot was taken just before the end point of the river as it flows into the Atlantic Ocean.

Just like almost every part of the country, whether it is a mountain, a glacier or a river, it is truly hard to believe what the eyes see. The incredible texture of the river, the hundreds of channels that the water creates, and of course that iridescent blue-green color created by the rock flour, made the scene looks surreal, once again.
Rock flour, or glacial flour, consists of fine-grained, silt-sized particles of rock, generated by glacial erosion.

Halendid by Johan Lolos

The Transmutation House is a time-based painting, photography, sound, and film project that ritualizes the act of creation. It began as a way for the artist to process grief after losing two friends in 2021. This undertaking proved quite harrowing but ultimately succeeded in transmuting turmoil into emotional and artistic growth. It hums with energy and life. The installation is meant to house others' transformations as well. This 86-second seamless mega-loop serves as a reminder that time is the most precious thing in the Universe, even for atoms, but especially for friends.



The color palette of this project is based on the favorite colors of the friends Jeff lost - red and black for Shig, yellow for El, and he is represented by blue. It consists of three paintings in conversation - ‘What’s Not There,’ ‘Colors Your Eyes,’ and ‘Transmutation.’ The abandoned trailer was painted & photographed with time-lapse photography over the course of two weeks for the Bombay Beach Biennale in March of 2022. Since then, Frost has continued to work on the film, soundtrack, and behind-the-scenes film ‘The Transmutation Story.’

Photographing Other Worlds Open Edition

Few places in my home country inspire me as much as Hallerbos does when the bluebells are in full bloom. This incredible event only happens for a couple of weeks each year. With the right lighting conditions, the woods truly become enchanted.
