In Chapter 1 we take a leap of faith. We realize that there is no perfect time to set sail and if we wait, we will be waiting forever. We set sail.
In Chapter 2 we are excited. We are enchanted by the journey ahead, filled with vigor and a burning desire to adventure. No obstacle is too great. Nothing can dampen our spirits.
In chapter 3 we are careless. We visit with old friends, and are quickly beguiled by the comforts and amenities they and the city provide. A storm is coming. We are not ready.
In chapter 4 we are naive. We nervously laugh in the face of real danger, it feels foreign. We have an aura of childish invincibility. We push forward, we endure.

mercy of god's will nature is unforgiving insignificant
In chapter 5 we are fearful. We come face to face with the reality we are in, there is no hiding. We either accept the danger or go home. Shaken, we apprehensively proceed.

In chapter 6 we find purpose. We are renewed, filled with the surreal wonder of nature. We see first hand why we adventure. The journey will be hard yet we desire more.

In chapter 7 we find calm. We now know the things we seek, and we know the road there will not easy. We are ready for anything yet everything is as it should be, everything is as expected.

In Chapter 8 we notice ourselves changing. We are surrounded by things that only a month ago would have brought great comfort and easy, yet we are uncomfortable.
Reunion (gaia)
familiar setting recommuning with nature finding where home is
In Chapter 9 we return to nature. We return to the wild, to one of nature's grand temples. A place we have been before. We can feel the aura, the magic; just like the first time. We're home.

In Chapter 10 we feel the vastness of space. we can see are stars. We're in a remote area; we can see are stars. We feel small yet we keep our sense of purpose. Our sense of self.

In chapter 11 we are nervously confident. We are remote. Removing the last remnants of society is sobering. We're confident, we understand the risk, but the risk is feels much greater alone.

In chapter 12 we are on top of the world. The sense of achievement is overwhelming. We exert ourselves to the absolute max and then some, but we make it. We cry, joy and pain.

In chapter 13 we lose the plot a bit. We are too focused on the adventure. We are so focused on what is next we lose sight on what really matters.

In chapter 14 high society helps us refocus on nature and our true love. Seeing what we left has a way of reminding us why we left. We get sick. Of society or actual illness? Not sure.

In chapter 15 we commune with nature's beasts. We are in awe of their majesty and freedom. We truly are just another animal in the wild.

In chapter 16 we climb. We follow a trail until we reach the end, but we find that maps and guides only take us so far. The the peak, is not for the faint of heart. We summit.

delicate moments but handled with love and care makes strong foundation
In chapter 17 we explore another of nature's temples with our other half. The risk and the adventure are not as grand, but we find peace being with the one we love most.

In chapter 18 we encounter remnants of a disaster. A stark reminder that disaster can come at anytime, from anywhere in the wild. It feels we are alone but some are watching, protecting.

In chapter 19 we waste no time and set out venturing until the end of the trail. Above the valley, below the peaks, we find natural beauty. We rest content, then return.

In chapter 20 we explore and make it to the top of a great waterfall. The road to the top was perilous. At the top we are unsure about the path down. This bleeds our confidence.

In chapter 21 we arrive at a beautiful mountain lake. Tired we rest, but while resting we continue to question ourselves, our ability, & our journey. We stay a week.

In chapter 22 we returned for one night to complete an adventure that alluded us the first visit, but alas mother nature does not comply. Really needed this, but didn't get to try.

In chapter 23 we are temporary reunited with friends. Friends who look out for us, who help us, who we share amazing times with. It helps us forget our recent trials, only for a moment.

In chapter 24 we are thrown back into the fire. We leave our friends to immediately find ourselves on limited water in sweltering conditions. In this heat, we must ration water. No relief.

In chapter 25 we find ourselves venturing into new frontiers and adventures. A change of scenery changes our mood. We crave adventure once more. Not to survive but to conquer.
