A 420 piece art collection born from the crossroads of mechanics, street art roots, and architectural pursuits. A fusion where the mechanics of urban streets meet the precision of architectural thinking, resulting in visually captivating expressions of raw energy and structured creativity.
The Inspiration:
It all began more than 30 years ago with my Father, in a location called Old Kent Road in London. He owned a mechanics garage, which became my regular hangout since I didn't care much for School.
I developed a passion for fixing cars and mechanics in general, but it was the gritty and greasy engineering that went into engines that truly captivated me.
I continued working with my Father until he retired, yet my fascination with engines never waned.
While the Old Kent Road and its surrounding areas are globally recognized, they weren't exactly known for their picturesque appearance, as the cheap, brown properties on the Monopoly board might suggest.
In reality, they were impoverished areas adorned with what I quickly recognized as gritty and rebellious art. Graffiti became my next hobby, and eventually, I built a successful career in this world.
Once the dust had settled, I pursued a degree in architecture, which now provides a roof over my family's heads. Needless to say, it's not always a harmonious relationship.
I hope this gives you a sense of how these life experiences are reflected within Noirum
