My last buy of 2022, which I dedicate to my belief in the power of generative art on contemporary fine art landscape.
I always love alternative photographic processes, especially cyanotype. And it blew my mind that someone can really pull it off in code. Thank you Ferdi!
XALTED portfolio is one in that you can see improvement and re-discovery in each step of the work. Which I found them encouraging, because in the end going forward is the most make sense way.
I'm here to take a bet on their future.
I might be biased on this one because I know him personally. But this series brings exactly the same emotion of the current state of his heart & mental as I see in real life. Won't be fading an honest work.
One of the most interesting features of the current digital art market is that it cuts the middleman. slimdhika is living proof that anyone can thrive here as he never had formal education nor interest in both visuals and code before.
Some people say they can hear music from a picture. This is the said picture for me. Every time it scrolls to a new composition the music keeps going forward with another arrangement. Emotional.
As a pixel art enthusiast, this one hits differently with the grim ambience and almost brush-like dithering. I never know pixel art can be this expressive. This is the work that convinces me to further collect MEK's work.
"Joined too late for minting Garden, Monolith, too fast for minting A Bugged Forest", is what I can describe regarding this piece. But to be honest I still feel this is zancan's most beautiful & emotional work.
Fast forward to my first big break in trading digital artwork on Tezos, instead of cashing out the profit, I bought another artwork that I already sold several months before. I learn that in the end beauty is always haunt me.
The only time so far that I do a crypto top-up to buy an artwork, $45 for 10 XTZ at that time, damn. But this gives me the conviction that digital art can really spark a buying interest, even with real money.
