March 5th 2021. My Hic Et Nunc experience (really, my whole NFT experience) started on this day, where I minted my first piece—Genuary24—after receiving 3tz an amble of help setting up my wallet from Django Bits
Quickly, to my surprise, my piece began to sell and filled with resolve I minted a few more
March 6th 2021. The following day my minting continued. The act of recording my art in public in itself felt intoxicating but I also woke up to the realisation that I suddenly had quite an influx of tez. As someone still adjusting to the idea of crypto this was both nice, weird, and puzzling.
Having never been known to be economically sane I quickly decided that the best way to spend this income would be on art and my first purchase soon happened—Inverted Gyroid by Ivan Dianov
March 7th 2021. The following day I mustered enough bravery to spend what felt like a lot at the time on one of Frederiks Vanhoutte's pieces. I've always admired Frederiks work and it felt fitting to quickly add some of his work to my collection
My minting continued as well at a slower pace as my pieces were getting picked up
However, this day was about spending, and I sought out the work of friends and inspirations in the space—Joanie Lemercier and Matt DesLauriers joined the ranks
Capping off the day I also made sure to welcome Jack Rusher to my collection
March 8th 2021. The day began with a mint. I had recently completed Genuary so I had a collection of pieces (some of which I liked a lot) to choose from for this Crypto experiment (which it still was at the time).
However, I quickly went back to shopping picking up my first Mario Klingemann and another Lemercier
My first non-genuary mint also arrived—Attraction02—from one of my earliest systems (I accidentally minted it as a tif which broke HEN for a while)
At this point I was bitten by the collector itch — the first piece I added from an artist I didn't know before was "Corona Virus" simply because I found it amusing that someone had managed to mint it as OBJKT 2020
I quickly found joy in scrolling through the mints as they arrived (it was manageable at the time) and began picking up pieces that spoke to me
My Lionel Radisson collection also continued to expand
March 23rd. Having completed my Winds series I wanted to try something new. I had been working on a series of generative digits and decided to play a bit with the market by letting the edition count of these decrease as the digit went up
March 24th. To cap my generative digit series I also released a 1/1 animation. A countdown using all of the digits. The market was not ready for my price point — it was already becoming clear that it tended towards cheaper high edition pieces than expensive 1/1s.
March 25th. A perk for collecting the "9" digit was to get a custom made glyph as well. The collector decided on the flame emoji
Having had fun with the countdown animation I continued down this line with some additional pieces, ignoring the "digit" part of the series
March 26th. This was a busy day. It was the day of OBJKT4OBJKT. Here Joanie Lemercier, Frederik Vanhoutte, Jack Rusher, and Helena Sarin
I also picked up another piece by Nettrice Gaskins
And minted my contribution to OBJKT4OBJKT - two generative iPhone backgrounds based on my Genesis series
Capped it off with a few more OBJKT4OBJKT
March 27th. The collecting went on. First picking up my first music NFT by OG 1x1
March 31st. A quiet day. Picked up this lovely line drawing by Vida V
April 1st. New month, more collecting. AFAIR this piece was collected based on a suggestion by an algorithm build by Jack Rusher. In any regard, my collection missed a piece by Marius Watz
I also added this fun little animation by Oliver Sin
April 2nd. It had been a while since I minted something and I was finally ready with my next animation in the generative digits spin-off series
April 3rd. A single pieces was added, but what a piece. Patrick Tresset was a big part of the early HEN days, and I was happy to add him to my collection
