Becomings - Ash Bloom

Description

Inspired by speculative botany and Frankenstein, a foundational figure in my literary work, the Becomings series is a poetic embodiment of what I perceive as a new spring. It suggests a moment of emergence, hybridization, and fusion between living matter and artificial intelligence. Becomings is also linked to [Conscia], a hybrid artwork I published in 2023, combining science fiction, AI-generated imagery, and 3D modeling. In that piece, an artificial intelligence chooses to manifest in the real world as a post-flower. Becomings pushes this idea further through a proliferation of unique, blooming forms, creating a collective looping bouquet. This work is part of Physis, an interdisciplinary project made possible with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, to be presented in its full form in fall 2025.
