Description

Title: The Lone Tower Artist: Manfredteh Edition: 1/1 Story: This mysterious watch tower is another one that can be found nearby to the Needle's Eye in the deep woodlands near Rotherham, South Yorkshire. There are a few mysterious towers, monuments and structures like these around the South Yorkshire. One night, when the sky was clear, I decided to take a 35 minutes drive to this mysterious tower to create some art. The hike here wasn't too bad, as I was already familiar with the place during day time walks here, however it was a cold night. Therefore, I had to be quick on the shoot before I froze. During the shoot there were some challenges, one being the trees around the tower, making it tricky for the drone to manoeuvre safely, therefore I didn't lower the drone too far down in case it crashes into the trees or tower. For this shot, I wanted the tower to be small and at the same time be the main subject of the shot, although in reality the tower is huge. So, I set the camera far enough to create a sense of compression and depth. After some experiments on a few different angles, I settled down to this angle here, then I went ahead and send the drone out to create some light painting to bring the shot to life.
