Wishful Thoughts

Description

These two Chinstrap penguins looked to be resting and enjoying the snowfall. It was my biggest wish to see wildlife in Antarctica and I saw SO much. South Georgia Island has more biodiversity than Galapagos some say. The Antarctic Treaty was signed into effect December 1, 1959 to become the only continent with no territorial sovereignty. This was to ensure that all who came, came with peaceful purposes only, so no nuclear waste or production to be established here. This agreement also promotes international scientific cooperation in Antarctica and helps preserve the fragile balance of life.
