This digital certificate of non-share ownership serves as proof of participation in Security, an ongoing speculative financial performance, as well as a freely tradable token within the performance. While nominally connected to the work’s original aggressive bonding curve, it is now bound to the *SECURITY* bonding curve in arbitrage potential only; Its value is governed by the market’s shifting appetite for speculation and satire, which has at times been quantified by an aggressive exponential bonding curve facilitated by the artist and gallery. Initiated in 2024, Security is SHL0MS’ critique of the speculative frenzy surrounding both art and crypto. The performance satirizes financial instruments, the murky ethics of market speculation, and the notion of value. Across both physical and digital iterations, Security presents a cold and hyperfinancialized interactive spectacle - an open market where collectors may ruthlessly dump the work on each other in a no-holds-barred trading environment, implicating themselves in the very mechanisms it seeks to expose.
