Her hair cascaded down her shoulders, as if it drank the black of the night. Her lips, curved in a shy, sly smile, sent a shiver of lust down his body. She stood there, glowing like the moon and casting a deathly spell of desire, as he walked towards her, willingl, like a hapless moth to a flame. The night deepened as lust wound him breathless, darkness, black, blood-bathed darkness crept into his eyes, his head, and his body - now cold, yet burning with desire. Yakshi, according to the folklore of Kerala, is a vampire that assumes the shape of a woman of extraordinary beauty to seduce men before drinking their life blood. Many claim that they’ve seen the Yakshi in the dead of the night, sitting on the branches of 'Paalamaram' (Indian Devil Tree), chewing 'murukaan' (paan) and waiting patiently - to kill.
