ARIADNE'S THREAD

Description

ARIADNE’S THREAD BOOK 1 Canto 1 ‘The Thread of Ariadne’. Here I lie, wounded. For much of my tragic existence have I been entombed. This dark, dank, cyclopean labyrinth. Asterion I was named, though forevermore known as the Minotaur. Incarcerated in this maze of infinite corridors, galleries and courtyards- an embarrassment; punishment sent from the Gods for the sins of my royal parents. A nasty surprise. In amongst my usual offering of quivering meat, hides a freakishly strong individual armed with a bronze sword. After a struggle somewhere in the darkest depths of this sprawling prison, I’m left for dead- exhausted, bleeding and terrified that this may be my ending. Whilst dressing my wounds I notice something odd. It is long and thin, snaking a way back through the gloom. I crawl along in great pain towards the source and discover a discarded ball of yarn. That scent. This is Ariadne’s thread. Gifted to the adversary by my half sister to aid him on his return journey from the nightmares of my home. Perhaps it will help me do the same.
