The kingdom of Ancient Egypt, Khemit, was one of the very first places where women had equal rights with men. It also saw some very powerful female rulers. The very last one of them was Cleopatra VII mostly referred to as Cleopatra. After her idyl with Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony, she preferred committing suicide rather than staying alive and becoming a prisoner, when Octavian invaded Egypt. This one is a double tribute as mythic actress Liz Taylor immortalised the iconic role in 1963 in the movie of the same name. As a Hollywood sex symbol, she married 8 times !
