Description
I came home, was in the house, at 8 in the morning went out on a bike with my brother to explore some nearby villages. Even after visiting two villages, no one was letting us to take a single photo, I still remember the framing and shots that I lost, But taking someone's picture after someone's refusal doesn't make me happy from inside. We should explain to them a couple of times, that if still they refuse to take a picture, then we should not take a picture against them. Well it happened that day also we had gone to 2 villages but no one was allowing us to take pictures. It was 8 to 11:30 while roaming 2 villages.
Getting drenched in the sun, we reached a village which is about 10kms away from my house, A small village between two mountains where there is no facility of a hospital, people do not even have the facility of drinking water. There is a chowk in the middle of the village, from which there is a way to go to different villages all around. Often what happens in the village is that a big tree is planted in the middle of the road so that people get shade. One such big tree was in the middle of the square and a small house under it, I saw an old lady from the window of the house, then I asked my brother to stop the bike. Then my brother told me what happened, I do not see any shots anywhere, and then I tell him to keep quiet. And slowly went and saw an old woman sitting near the window of her small house, peeping out from inside. Then as soon as I picked up the camera and started taking her picture, the wise woman closed the window in fear. Some village people were sitting under that big tree, I called them and explained to them about my project and photography. Then I took that brother with me and reached in front of the house of the same intellectual woman. As soon as we reached in front of her house, an old man came out from inside who was her husband, I was more than happy to see the old man. The old man had some strange power in his eyes which was inspiring me from inside, Name Jaikrishna Patel was 90 years old, even after being so old, living with so much sorrow and pain, Perhaps it is the gift of God, who is living life even after suffering so much pain, there is neither happiness nor sorrow in life. It's probably a privilege for me to talk to this old man, explained my project to the wise man and asked to take some 3 4 pictures, but the old man could not understand anything, The wise man could not understand anything after explaining 2 3 times to the old man the brother who was nearby said that the old man does not hear anything. I tried to speak a little louder again. After speaking louder, the wise man could hear, Uncle murmured with joy as soon as he heard it, even after seeing so much happiness, there was a lot of happiness on my face as well. Then I took some of his portraits, among those portraits this is one of my favorite portraits. Often in the villages, a clay seating area is made in front of their house so that people can sit there. I told Uncle to sit there because Uncle has become very old, so I also did not like to see him standing, So I asked them to sit there and I also sat down. Then Uncle and I both sat down and started talking, after talking I came to know that Uncle used to do farming from his youth for his livelihood. He has a son who lives outside and never comes to see them. When I asked about his house, I came to know that there is only one room where the old lady and old man both eat and sleep there. The condition of the house is such that if there is too much wind storm, the house can fall. Then I asked Uncle about his wife, then he told me that his wife could not walk, she only keep watching sitting near the window. That's why uncle refused me to take his wife's picture. Even after battling with so many problems, Uncle has that light in his eyes which can impress and inspire everyone.
After talking like this for 15 to 20 minutes, Uncle blessed me by placing his hand on my head and said "The time has come for us to go, you will do something to help people ahead, so live long". I laughed and said to Uncle, you too stay young, nothing ever happens to you, and then I came from there. The blessing and love which I get from them, that what shows me the way to live.
Keep love, and support, life is full of pain, problems, and sadness as I said, but we should enjoy everything in life because it's only life.
