Out of the Blue

Description

This image is quite new, as I took it a week ago! I don't like to get too close to whales, as I don't want to disturb them (even though in the water, the closer you are from your subject, the better quality image you get). There were a lot of particles in the water that day, with about 5m of visibility. I was swimming when I saw a breach (whale jumping out of the water) further away. I swam in that direction, only to stop when that huge guy just appeared right in front of me, out of the hazy blue. He swam gently toward me, came as close as maybe 2 meters, and then vanished... An incredible, humbling and haunting experience that will stick with me for years to come!
