Description

A friend hit this little Tawny while traveling home at twilight on a dirt road. She felt so terrible that she had hit the little guy but knew of my work - she wrapped him in cloth and traveled to give him to me, so that I could give him his Burial Rites. The local gardener here had grown a row of flowers for community members to pick for funerals so they didn't have to use plastic flowers for funerals, I had absolutely no idea about that when I decided to use them and was only told about their purpose - feels even more fitting now. After we had done our work I wrapped him in bark and placed him at the bottom of a big, old gum tree that was reaching up towards the rising moon. Goodbye friend.
