Bunsen & Beaker Otter

Description

Gruesome Twosome Friday! This is Dr. Bunsen Honeydew Otter, and his hapless assistant, Beaker Otter. They work in the world famous Muppet Labs, “where the future is being made today.” The most useful invention Muppet Labs ever completed was a gorilla detector, so I think it is fair to say these two should be in line for some sort of Nobel Prize. Although Honeydew and Beaker created many wonderful things, the real miracle of their partnership is that no one ever died during an experiment. First, Beaker is clearly autistic. In the eighties, we thought it was hilarious that he was a mute-spaz, but knowing what we know now, he is clearly dealing with some profound autism. Second, Dr. Honeydew has no eyes! I mean, seriously, should a bald dude with no eyes be supervising a laboratory staffed by a mentally deficient assistant? Every week Beaker would get blown up, electrocuted, started on fire, eaten by a monster, or lose a limb, yet OSHA never once showed up to investigate the working conditions. What’s up with that? Anyway, I think we all learned a valuable lesson from Honeydew and Beaker; if you are going to be doing dangerous things, find a less intelligent person to act as your human shield.
