Description

This looping timelapse was created from over 500 single image frames shot at Mono Lake in January of 2019. The images were captured post-sunset through night time and sequenced together to give the viewer a day to night experience like no other from this mysteriously beautiful location. This is my first minted piece, and will be a 1 of 1 because of how special it is to me. After visiting this location back in 2016, but not having the time to shoot any images after dark, it quickly became an obsession for me to get back and shoot a calm lake so i could get the perfect mirrored reflection of stars. 3 years later, in the midst of winter, an opportunity presented itself to get back to the area and finally create the images that I had been dreaming of. After flying into LA and driving out to the Eastern Sierras and up, I began my research as to which day was going to give me the clear skies and low wind that I so desperately needed to capture the stars with a clear reflection in the water. I ended up having to wait until the final day of my trip, and then, it happened. The absolute perfect conditions that I needed to experience this moment. Music composed by myself.
