Description

The old couple was kind enough to offer me a cup of coffee while I looked around. That house caught my attention and I asked them who lived in there. The woman said it belonged to her father. When she got married, she and the husband built a new house for themselves, across the old one. The old house remained. I saw poetry in this brief tale. The old woman told me how she, her brothers and sisters slept, played and ate into and outside the now decaying place. Memories of her old childhood standing strong in the shape of an abandoned house everyone drives by carelessly. Time drains our lives, turning them into memories. Paraíba, Brazil, 2017
