Mirrors in the night

Collection

Moments of Joy by Felix Inden

Description

The elusive Aurora borealis is such a fantastic phenomenon. Since my first sight of the Aurora, I have been absolutely addicted to these ever changing green and colorful lights on the dark night sky. The aurora is always a feast for the eyes. However, seeing the northern lights at one of the fantastic beaches of the Lofoten islands in northern Norway during low tide, it is even more special. As the waves wash ashore and recede back into the ocean, a mirror in the night unfolds. This had been a day of horrible weather and during the first hours of darkness there was no chance at all to even see the stars. I had nothing to do and really wanted to see this phenomenon again, so I just drove out and sat at the beach for a whole while. First it got really windy, but this was a blessing as the wind simply blew all the clouds away. Having a clear sky, I started looking for compositions. Eventually, the elements aligned and I enjoyed a fantastic show! A true moment of joy was had!
