The Tirusulam abandoned stone quarry perhaps is one of Chennai’s best-kept secrets. It’s really difficult to reach the quarry since there are many routes that seem to be scary yet adventurous. You have to trek down the hills first to reach the quarry.

There are many lakes and quarries within Tirusulam, which has been a source of drinking water to residents, also engaging in quarrying and crushing units. The huge lakes were formed when the quarries were abandoned. The lakes are spread almost over about 5 acres.

Many youngsters and nature enthusiasts love wandering over this abandoned place and it has been one of the favorite spots for budding photographers.
