Age of the Flood

Collection

born to die OEs

Description

The title for this OE was inspired by Margaret Atwood's "The Year of the Flood" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Year_of_the_Flood But the reality is that we are in the age of the flood. My work - both my traditional and digital works - are now starting to focus more and more on the dystopia that we all find ourselves living in. How - annually now - catastrophe after catastrophe occurs, conflicts between nations kill thousands of innocents, social unrest and protests everywhere with no change, climate disasters destroying communities and even countries, refugee toddlers washing up on beaches... and yet we still just search our phones every day, seeking the next positive escapist HIT that will make it all go away. We're slowly dying and we barely even notice it. This open edition will be used as a burn-redeem token for more BORN TO DIE art.
