Description

A network of connections radiating from two nearly antipodal geographic nodes: the Formosa 6529 Gallery in São Paulo and the island of Taiwan, once named Formosa by Portuguese sailors as they passed its shores. The paths are modeled using an open-source database of real-world airports and flight routes, through which four hierarchical levels are visualized and animated. From two initial nodes, connecting points emerge and propagate across the globe, forming a dynamic frontier that weaves the network into an expanding field of influence. The piece is at once a historical bridge, a scientific visualization, and an ongoing hope.
