Description

After painting a few large scale murals, we wanted to pay tribute to street bombing, as it is our natural environment. Boombox refers to the history of Hip Hop in New York City. Our point was simply to take over the city with one of the Five Elements, and make a piece that would illustrate how this whole culture went big. It is made how we believe it should be done : From the streets to the streets. No sponsor, no salary, just street credits. We had no budget to paint this huge piece, so we managed to organize a non-cost wall in Warsaw, took some paint, and did it. We consider it as a part of our story - Big dreams, no means. By releasing this as an NFT, we want to share our motivation to create more street related works. This mural can still be seen in Warsaw. We all began as graffiti writers, spending all our money and time focusing only on painting steel and bricks. We spent many long nights to hit a piece or two, never asking for any reward. We did it only for ourselves and the graffiti community. Considered as vandals, we heard too many times that the police should cut off our hands, and never thought that this path could take us as far as we went. As « vandals » changed into « street artists », we took advantage. We consider ourselves as the lucky ones, and we can say that we developed our passion into a whole way of life. Since 1996, paint is all over our lives, and we make our best to keep it like that. All works from The Roots series refer to our actual beginnings, in matter of style and technique. First with pencil on paper, and spray can on walls after. All of this, digitalized for a long life.
