Bomb #17869

Collection

Adam Bomb Squad

Description

Bomb Story: Lurking Adam never made it to see the light of day. In fact, he never even made it out of the trenches of the drafts folder. If you look closely, the illustration is still lacking and incomplete - in that sense, it's a rare one for Adam Bomb Squad. '80s babies know: Lurking Adam parodies one of the Rainbow Brite characters.| Background Story: Horizontal stripes, especially of the yarn-dyed variety, are a staple of The Hundreds' collection. Earlier on, they were derived from the surf knits and beachgoer patterns that graced the backs of Californians in the 1980s. Examples include Hang Ten, OP, Quiksilver, and Gotcha. In the following decade, independent skate brands and rave companies capitalized on stripes across boxy, baggy tops. Whether they're fatter stripes across neighborhood-sanctioned Charlie Browns or pinstripes across suiting or a baseball jersey, The Hundreds' stripes speak to a spectrum of subcultures.
