Description

In the mid 60s when I was moving from NY to Rome to continue my studies in Architecture I have been looking at Warhol confronted with Surrealism but always, deep in my mind, Duchamp was entrenched. At the time I was smoking a pipe. Duchamp was smoking a pipe. I took my best, straightgrain, Dunhill pipe, I stuck it on a Coke bottle, sprayed it white and kept smoking it. It was functional! In the meantime Picasso was floating around…..
