Description

From theVERSEverse's inaugural GenText collection, FLOWER-COLORED LIGHT 2, is a collaboration between poet Sasha Stiles + “artist in light” Gisel Florez, with generative text from a poem co-created by Sudowrite. Using the concept of shimmering, prismatic electric light + Florez’s signature photographic style as a seed, Stiles used Sudowrite’s Poem feature to author a series of AI-powered stanzas, which she then curated + assembled into a cohesive text. -- theVERSEverse.com is poetry's home in the metaverse, a literary gallery where text is art, poetry is technology + language is limitless, founded by Ana Maria Caballero, Kalen Iwamoto + Sasha Stiles. theVERSEverse offers specially curated 1/1 visual poems by critically acclaimed poets + its GenText series. GenText, powered by Sudowrite + GPT-3, explores the craft + creativity of generative text. Each GenText drop is a collaboration between a poet, an artist + an AI, expressed as issues of 12 visual verses in editions of 10. More info: theverseverse.com/gen-text -- Flower-Colored Light In the garden of my mind, nothing grows but light. Flower-colored light. The mind is a gardener making flowers come alive in the dark. Either I’m walking around in a dream or I’m in a field of flowers, lightwalking. Either I’m walking around in a dream or the world is. It’s time to be awake. Gardens are good places to learn about the mysteries of the Universe. I see faces in the faces. The flowers I’m looking at are looking at me. I have to believe that light has a heart and a mouth and a tongue. Every bloom I reach to touch turns to wind, blows away, leaving fragrance in my hand. Don’t look into my eyes until you’re ready for one of us to disappear. Without the sun to warm me, I am awash in moonlight. Without the moon to light me, I bask in starlight. Without the stars to watch over me, I gaze upon my own luster. I am on fire with beauty, my soul beginning to glow.
