Description

“What we do in life echoes in eternity.” We are warriors. All of us artists, lovers, and dreamers. There are boundaries that have shackled this world and our souls for too long, and we offer our very lives to prove that these boundaries are conventions. Changing the world begins with the heart, a heavy burden that we all must bear. We may no longer hear the ringing steel and shattering shields, but there is a war raging in our lives all the same. The pain of loneliness, the fear of loss. These forces frighten us into building walls that keep the warmth away. Rivers of time steal our youth and lead us to the crashing rocks where we will all one day rest, reminding us of the futility in our actions. And yet, we persevere. We fight death itself with every breath we take. We fight to carve a place where we belong in this world. We fight for every scrap of decency awarded to us. We fight to be understood, to be seen and heard. We fight to be loved. But hearts break. Minds unravel. There is a darkness that calls our names at night. If our only choice is to survive or be consumed, then we must be stronger than the demons clawing at our backs. If there is no way out, then we must go through. And our journey begins with the smallest step, the opening of our eyes and hearts to the beauty around us. There is hope for us, the warriors. We may yet reach the Elysian Fields, where the warm sun shines and wild horses gallop across the ridges. A place where the breeze smells of jasmine and the winter winds will never find us again. But there is still more to be done here. We have come so far; let us battle on just a little longer.
