Description

The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar system. A perfect ball of plasma created thanks to the billion-years battle between immense gravity and unyielding nuclear fusion. With its enormous effect on Earth it was regarded as deity since prehistoric times. An entirety of life, all aspects of it are formed thanks to it and are dependent on it. Existing for roughly 4.6 billions of years, the Sun is a yellow dwarf, a type-G main sequence star. Eating hundreds millions tons of hydrogen every second, it baths the planets of the system in infrared heat and visible light. A photon born of nuclear fusion at temperatures of millions of degrees C will take 170'000 years to escape from core to the surface to finally shine into the void and hopefully reach you. Sun was born violently from the gravitational collapse of molecular cloud and will die violently 5 billion years from now, expanding horrendously into a red giant as it burns through its hydrogen, consuming inner planets including Earth, pumping out carbon, shrinking again and expanding again only to shed away half of its enveloping mass into a planetary nebula and later shrink into a white dwarf. Sun will die and take all of us with it and then will be reborn as a mimicry of former self, which will survive for trillions of years before fading into nothing. It is our father (as Earth is a mother) and it will be our killer. The one. The only. The Sun.
