Description

The Enshrined do not speak. They receive. Mantheia is marble given jurisdiction over time. She was consecrated before the Convergence, when stone could still hold a future without cracking under its weight. Her veined skin is rose-threaded ivory, quarried from a site no cartographer will name. Her braids are carved in the old Hellenic style, formal and permanent, the way grief gets formal when it lasts long enough. Her eyes are sealed beneath a beaded visor. Gunmetal ground, floral pink and green seed-work, stitched by hands that did not survive the stitching. This is not blindness. This is precision. Mantheia sees exactly one thing at a time, and it has not happened yet. Her draped garment pools at a base no supplicant has ever touched. Her layered necklaces chime without wind. The dual nature in her is this: she is the prophecy and the stone it is carved into. She is the oracle and the reliquary holding it. Those who come seeking answers leave bearing questions they lacked the vocabulary for before.
