The Fungus Among Us is a digital risograph trading card collection, consisting of 22 different mushrooms divided into three categories: the good, the bad and the trippy. I've always been fascinated by mushrooms and their relationship with humans and life in general. From the harmless edibles to the deadly beautiful species and the special mushrooms filled with knowledge to share, fungi have been turning death into life dating way back over a billion years. Their intelligence isn't only shared wwith humans and other animals, but amongst themselves being capable of long distance communication and other characteristics which make them that much intriguing. In the end, this collection is just a way I found to externalize my fascination in the best way I know how, and I hope I can share a bit of this with you. Species: Amanita Pantherina (Panther Cap) Type: Trippy Location: The Panther Cap is a rare mushroom found in meadows and coniferous woodlands throughout Europe and Western Asia in late summer and autumn. It has also been seen in South Africa and British Columbia, Cana, due to being accidentally introduced with trees imported from Europe and Asia. Trivia: Despite containing the psychoactive compound Muscimol, it is less used than it's famous relative, Amanita Muscaria. It is said that it's potencyt is greater than that of the A. muscaria, but unclear but how much. All images in this collection are highly texture 3000x3000px PNGs, created using only three colors (Cyan, Magenta and Yellow), with tonal variations and other colors coming from halftones and color overlay in order to maintain the stipulated color limtiations.
