Description

Realm of the unseen things. The place where nothing is what it seems, and the truth has a thousand faces. A place where magic is real, and the boundaries between life and death are thin as gauze. Where power flows like blood in veins that have no beginning or end. Where light and darkness live side by side and sometimes are one and the same. It lies somewhere beyond our world, hidden from the eyes of men. There are places within this realm where time stands still. Some etherea dwell there—creatures who walk not on two feet; whose bodies are not flesh, nor bone, but something else entirely. They wear masks and appear in many guises to deceive mortals... A common type of such creature is that known as a "ѕнσggσтн", an entity resembling a small octopus with tentacles which are usually tipped with vicious barbs. In other forms they may be more humanoid, or even resemble ordinary humans. When these beings are at rest, their tentacles coil up into a ball and lie folded across the back. Their backs are often covered with skin that resembles human flesh, although much less dense and smoother than ours. ѕнσggσтнѕ feed exclusively upon dead matter, devouring organic remains of all sorts (including living people) as well as any manner of dust, dung, fur and wood chips.
