Description

doвrcy is a misterious elf-mixed race, the nature of whose origin and early history we are not competent to describe. However there's no doubt that it has a very ancient connection with the elves of the North. It is believed that its inhabitants were originally from the same country as the elves, but separated by centuries of war and persecution. The doвrcy have no written language of their own; they do not even have a symbol for writing. The only form of communication which they use is the spoken word. They believe that their thoughts are expressed in the tones of voice they use. There are, however, certain sounds which they feel to be particularly powerful. When someone speaks these words aloud, the doвrcy regard them as having an especially potent meaning. They are not a society based on wealth or power, but rather on the ability to speak well. There is a hierarchy among the doвrcy, with the most senior being those who can speak with the greatest clarity. Those who are unable to express themselves clearly are looked down upon by all other members of the race.
