Post-Structuralist Hair Trends of 2023 ~~ ~ B a r b i e ~ W o r l d ~ R e v i s i t e d ~ gif, 880 x 770 px, 2023 ** Glitches from Corrupted Super Nintendo ROMs of "Barbie: Super Model" (1992) ** Since Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie has thrust the famous toy doll back into the discourse, I figure I would revisit my 2016-2017 series and create some new glitches for the blockchain. ~ B a r b i e ~ W o r l d ~ is a series of ROM corruption glitches made from the 1992 SNES game "Barbie: Super Model." Originally, the series was inspired by Cybertwee, particularly the works of Violet Forest and May Waver. It was also inspired by the fact that i loved playing with Barbies as a kid, but never owned any bc "gender." Growing up in the 1990s, there weren't many games designed or marketed to girls, especially in the US, Mattel and Disney were some of the exceptions.
