Description

DIVSKULL A generative pixel portrait collection by shahrokh.tez In Iranian mythology and folklore, the div inhabits a world of fear, magic and wonder. Divs appear as formidable adversaries, cunning shapeshifters and keepers of unfamiliar knowledge. DIVSKULL brings these creatures into contemporary digital culture through the eyes of a cartoonist. The collection connects Iranian folklore with the visual language of pixel art and profile picture collections. References to established NFT projects, particularly within the Tezos ecosystem, are reinterpreted through original traits and details, becoming part of the characters’ visual DNA. Horns, masks, unusual eyes and ornaments transform a shared skull structure into personalities that can be unsettling, playful or absurd. Each portrait is drawn entirely through code from a digital seed. The generator combines 18 visual trait categories using weighted probabilities and compatibility rules. Skull types, backgrounds, eyes, headwear, masks, mouth features and special rendering modes create a wide range of combinations. Including rarity and accessory count, each piece records 20 attributes. Five rarity tiers, from Common to Legendary, are assigned through a score derived from weighted selections. Seven rendering editions, including ASCII, Phantom, Negative and Mondrian, offer different interpretations of the same visual world. A fixed seed reproduces the same portrait. DIVSKULL gives an ancient creature a contemporary face, bringing the div into the evolving culture of digital identity.
