Description

She was born in 1935 in Skopje, former Yugoslavia, present-day Macedonia. He is part of the 2% of Yugoslavian Jews who were not murdered by the Nazis in the extermination camp of Treblinka. In 1940 they left Skopje and with their family moved to the city of Dechan -nowadays Kosovo- and there they settled in the house of the family of Arslan Mustafa of Muslim origin, who allowed them to build a house in his land, which later served as shelter for many other Jews. They left Skopje in 1940/1941 for Dechan. In the autumn of 1944, they entered the Balkan Mountains from Tirana, bound for Debra. It was not easy to decide which was the best route so that no one could see them. Risks could come from both sides: if they met a German patrol, they knew they would have little chance, if any at all. In several days they could barely make headway. Trucks with soldiers on the road, sounds of gunfire in the forest or any other movement that was a potential risk made them stay hidden and not move. Those days were especially hard. In 1948 the Konforti family immigrated to Montevideo-Uruguay. Testimony: "To good hunger there is no hard bread". Montevideo - Uruguay 2020 aaronsosa.eth.co www.aaronsosaphotography.com Digital Photography Size: 6000 x 4000px 300 DPI About this project: In the history of mankind there can be found no other crime so heinous, nor so coldly calculated, as the one that as that which annihilated millions of human beings in the Nazi concentration camps. This project has allowed me to enter for a brief moment into the lives of an important group of these exiles and survivors, who arrived in Latin American lands many years ago to start a new life; and who have given me the honor of knowing a little about them and their experiences, as well as to photograph them and immortalize them through photography. So far in minting this collection I have been able to portray 58 survivors: 20 from Venezuela 25 from Uruguay 13 from Argentina The first part of the survivors that arrived in Venezuela were minted as 1/1 NFTs on the ETH blockchain. I have decided to make the survivors that arrived in Uruguay available in editions of 50 on the Tezos blockchain and the survivors from Argentina will be minted later. My intention with the sale of the NFTs is to self-finance the project to give it continuity. Soon I must travel to Chile where there are 13 survivors waiting to be portrayed and then continue moving around Latin America to continue with the project. Another of the main objectives is to finance the printing of a book that gathers all the portraits, biographies and testimonies of each survivor.
