Description

She was born on August 1, 1932 in the city of Kharkov, former Soviet Union. For work reasons her parents moved to Odessa, where Lala - as she was called - had a happy childhood. At the age of 9 she was diagnosed with whooping cough which meant that, together with her mother, they moved for a time to her paternal grandparents' house in Kharkov. They traveled on June 22, 1941, the same day the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union. Larissa would only return to Odessa, as a tourist, fifty years later. Her father was called to the front to fight in the Red Army. When the bombings began, the government carried out a massive evacuation that ended up in Uzbekistan. Alone with her mother, she experienced extreme poverty and suffering. Soon they received a telegram confirming her father's disappearance on the battlefield. Her last postcard had arrived on July 30, 1942. The end of the war found her with a stepfather whom she would love as her second father, Symcha Inwentarz, who married her mother. For two years, they toured Europe collecting more than 100 Jewish orphans - thanks to the Joint's intervention - whom they helped ship to the promised land, what is now the State of Israel. Testimony:
"As time goes by, happiness erases the memory of suffering. What one never forgets is the love one has received. What I ask from life is peace, nothing else. Peace for my children, my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren". Montevideo - Uruguay 2020 aaronsosa.eth.co www.aaronsosaphotography.com Digital Photography Size: 6000 x 4000px 300 DPI About this project: In the history of mankind there can be found no other crime so heinous, nor so coldly calculated, as the one that as that which annihilated millions of human beings in the Nazi concentration camps. This project has allowed me to enter for a brief moment into the lives of an important group of these exiles and survivors, who arrived in Latin American lands many years ago to start a new life; and who have given me the honor of knowing a little about them and their experiences, as well as to photograph them and immortalize them through photography. So far in minting this collection I have been able to portray 58 survivors: 20 from Venezuela 25 from Uruguay 13 from Argentina The first part of the survivors that arrived in Venezuela were minted as 1/1 NFTs on the ETH blockchain. I have decided to make the survivors that arrived in Uruguay available in editions of 50 on the Tezos blockchain and the survivors from Argentina will be minted later. My intention with the sale of the NFTs is to self-finance the project to give it continuity. Soon I must travel to Chile where there are 13 survivors waiting to be portrayed and then continue moving around Latin America to continue with the project. Another of the main objectives is to finance the printing of a book that gathers all the portraits, biographies and testimonies of each survivor.
