Description

He was born in Beisefôrth, Germany on May 26, 1927. Lothar arrived in Uruguay at the age of 10 on November 16, 1937. He and his family were among the first to arrive in Uruguay. His father, who had read Hitler's "My Struggle", made the decision to emigrate because of that book. He was very serious about it, contrary to his relatives who lived in his area. And he went to Uruguay because his mother's family had a confectionery in Frankfurt, which was frequented by the Uruguayan consul, who took his orders, due to the growing wave of anti-Semitism. After a short time and due to the increasing deterioration of the situation of the Jews, three siblings of Lothar's father also emigrated, although two, Betty and Max, along with other relatives were murdered in the concentration camps. Part of the history of the Jews in Beiseförth was documented by Julius Rosenblatt (Lothar's second cousin) in the series "Max and His Challenges", picture books that from a child's point of view show how they were losing rights and how they went through the Night of Broken Glass. Testimony: "May what happened never happen again". "When you are convinced of something, you have to follow the impulse, that's what saved us". Montevideo - Uruguay 2020 aaronsosa.eth.co www.aaronsosaphotography.com Digital Photography Size: 6000 x 4000px 300 DPI About this project: In the history of mankind there can be found no other crime so heinous, nor so coldly calculated, as the one that as that which annihilated millions of human beings in the Nazi concentration camps. This project has allowed me to enter for a brief moment into the lives of an important group of these exiles and survivors, who arrived in Latin American lands many years ago to start a new life; and who have given me the honor of knowing a little about them and their experiences, as well as to photograph them and immortalize them through photography. So far in minting this collection I have been able to portray 58 survivors: 20 from Venezuela 25 from Uruguay 13 from Argentina The first part of the survivors that arrived in Venezuela were minted as 1/1 NFTs on the ETH blockchain. I have decided to make the survivors that arrived in Uruguay available in editions of 50 on the Tezos blockchain and the survivors from Argentina will be minted later. My intention with the sale of the NFTs is to self-finance the project to give it continuity. Soon I must travel to Chile where there are 13 survivors waiting to be portrayed and then continue moving around Latin America to continue with the project. Another of the main objectives is to finance the printing of a book that gathers all the portraits, biographies and testimonies of each survivor.
