Description

WinterMancer, extending its dystopian world through a poetic study of succession, memory, and power. The work follows a speaker grappling with inherited history and the pressure of becoming what time, bloodline, and circumstance seem to demand of him. Combining poetry and visual storytelling, the story continues. “I am tied to their savage delusions, By the invisible knot of time, That if I could grasp; I would unravel thread by thread, Until my fingers bleed, So that the rope of years gone by, Would not lead inevitably to me. And if I could part with that blood, It would be better than feeling its pulse, For its foreign too my heart. And it pumps not too my brain. If memory makes the man, I have reason left for who I am, And what I am, Is just the price of succession. I can rule the kingdom, Better than the belief in nature’s maturation, Within this orb like a sealed-off dome, This city’s not a concrete rubble rancid animal, It is much more like a rose, Reign the tyrant in the palace walls, Until we climb its stalk.” Credits Written and performed by Laurence Fuller Visual storytelling by Erythric Music & Sound Design by Erythric
