Description
Aerial photo of a section of the mighty lava river heading towards the ocean entry during the historic 2018 Kilauea volcano eruption on the Big Island, Hawai'i. The biggest in over 200 years.
Depending on the time of day or night, as well as the chemical composition and temperature of the molten rock itself, lava takes on a huge variety of colours that have to be seen to be believed. My aim when capturing these natural art works is to convey the huge colour palette as authentically as possible.
