Description

FALSE PROPHETS II 🥀🔥 Gold dripping from his eyes, And sour venom from his lips, Gnawing the last scrap of meat, From the end of the bone. Connoisseurs line up the front door of his home. “Fallen is where I am, Lost somewhere in the heart of man. Tapping my fingers on nascent bells, Wreckage of hope can’t you tell? We fell together, at least we fell together.” Porcelain prophets crack at the edges, The paint flakes showed the missions of gold. Be the envy of all the world, The ancient prophecies foretold. You reap what you sow. Seeds of precious jewels, Sprouted trees, Dropping rancid milk, Green eyes crawl out the silk. Blood in the water, Jewels on his skin, Better he’d slept a while longer, Dreamt away the disrepute of his kin, False Prophets. by Laurence Fuller, 2022
