Description

"What is art for? If reality struck our senses and our consciousness directly, if we could have immediate communication with things and with ourselves, art would not be necessary, or we would all be artists, because our soul would resonate in unity with nature." — Henri Bergson This piece was created as part of the closing session of the SublimeCinema seminar organized by NewtroArts, with the participation of Gustavo Sanabria. Throughout the seminar, we watched nine films. Each with a very distinct approach, unique execution, and exquisite imagery. We came together to reflect on them and to share how we experienced each one. That exchange was deeply enriching: there's always someone who notices something you hadn’t seen. Even though each film was very different and each director had a particular vision, art was always present, as a force that brings us back to the same questions: What? How? When? Why? What for? ... do we create art? I returned to my love for black and white after watching Fellini’s 8½. Photography, self portrait GIF ~ 51 frames Photoshop & after effects
