Description

This collection was made with the assistance of artificial intelligence and machine learning. I used Midjourney to generate characters, concepts, and environments. From the AI outputs, I moved into digital collage and digital painting, editing, and further refining these images between photoshop and clip studio. The resulting collection is the remnant of human and machine working together, influencing one another, and augmenting creativity. Each piece in this collection is 1/1, uniquely generated and further polished in post. •───────•°•❀•°•───────•INTRO •───────•°•❀•°•───────• You discover field research from an anonymous folklore and mythology PhD candidate. Is it possible...that there lies a world parallel to our own? Follow their journey through the land in-between. •───────•°•❀•°•───────• GENESIS•───────•°•❀•°•───────• I’m not quite sure what exactly my intent with these journal entries is anymore. Initially, this had started as a field report or some sort of research endeavor. Yet, as I delve further into this world the less clear it all becomes. I’m not quite sure I can even remember why I started writing these in the first place. This place, in its hazy magnificence, tugs and pulls at you. Beckoning to push farther than ever before, to plunge even deeper into its depths. It’s beautiful yet haunting, this land in-between. Neither here nor there, wicked but enchanting; and, I’ve lost my way. I’m not certain I even want to find it. Are these creatures fairies? Are they angels? None quite know; and, it’s better not to ask – to keep a distance and admire from afar. Still, a part of me wants a closer look. Is this how it all ends? Should anyone find these, please make sure that they reach the right hands. The university always frowned upon this obsession of mine, laughing at what they thought were mere bedtime stories. If only they could see this realm! I suppose these rather rudimentary impressions, with my limited artistic skills and lack of proper equipment, will have to suffice. I wonder if I can strike some sort of deal with one of these fairy angels, as I’ve taken to calling them; see about getting some of my work back to the other side. I should probably be more worried about this situation. Until next time. - M (I’ve lost track of the time and date, I think time works differently here. I’m abbreviating my name for safety, based on trends of folklore. ) •───────•°•❀•°•───────•2022 •───────•°•❀•°•───────• A. Morgan McKendry slimebubble
