Description

Not every door is an invitation. Photographed during a visit to one of Pablo Escobar’s former residences in Colombia, a place shaped by extraordinary wealth, power and secrecy, where hidden spaces were built to conceal enormous amounts of American currency. Behind one of its barred entrances, I held up a single dollar. A small gesture, and perhaps a little humor, in a place where the dollar once represented unimaginable power. Forbidden Door is the artist gift for Week 06 of the Sunday Photography Salon, DOOR, created for the photographers whose work shaped this week’s study.
