Description

Chipko movement was a revolution of sorts that took place in the 1970s in a village located on the foothills of the Himalayas in India. The women folks of the village formed a circle and hugged the trees for days till the Indian government decided to revoke its decision to cut down a large number of trees in the region. Earth Day is a reminder that we have to watch ourselves. Maybe small doable steps by each of us would make all the difference.
