Description

Provence is a NFT collection of 15 images from Quayola’s Pointillisme series. A high-precision laser scanner observes the intricate and vibrant tree formations, unable to accurately resolve their complex geometries and colors. Documenting the scanner’s failures and related chromatic aberrations, this research draws a parallel between pictorial traditions and new machinic expressiveness. This NFT is part of a unique collection of 15 distinct iterations, each consisting of a different section of laser-scanned tree formations in Provence, France. Digital Image Unique (Edition of 1+1 AP) Edition: Unique Year: 2026 Additional Specifications: Size: 4300x6000 px Format: PNG Quayola employs technology as a lens to explore the tensions and equilibriums between seemingly opposing forces: the real and artificial, figurative and abstract, old and new. Landscape painting, classical sculpture and iconography are some of the historical aesthetics that serve as a point of departure for Quayola’s hybrid compositions.
