Description

September 2019 I spent one month in the remote Westfjords of Iceland living in a working farmhouse as an Artist in Residence. I specifically chose the Sheepherders Residency (and Aurora Return), so I could create a new body of work and images that are not what I have seen thousands of online. The stark landscape and everything about the Island speaks to the deepest depths of my bones and my Norwegian, Swedish, and English heritage. Catch of The Day is the first image from my Iceland excursion minted to the Blockchain. It was juried in to the Exhibition “domicile” August 2020, A Smith Gallery’s 10 Year Anniversary exhibition, and it was curated in to the April 2022 exhibition Creatures of Light and Form: Topographical Exploration at Cosumnes River College | Photography Month Sacramento. I dream of going back to the Island one day.
