Description

Frederik Vanhoutte is a medical physicist by day, creative coder by night. When he pulls the plug in the bath tub, he stays to watch the little whirlpool. When he sits at the kitchen table, he plays with the glasses to see the caustics. Sometimes at night, he finds himself behind the computer. When he finally blinks, a mess of code is drawing random structures on the screen. He spends the rest of the night staring. Raphaël de Courville is a generative artist, streamer, and educator from Paris. His artistic work is an exploration of generative systems, patterns, interactivity, and time. In 2012 Raphaël co-founded Creative Code Berlin, a community that promotes collaboration between artists and coders. He lives and works in Berlin. For this new series, I asked some of my favorite artists to bring their unique style to the gemstone motif originally explored in the 0.20 carat collection. Published on fxhash on December 22nd 2021, the 0.20 carat collection is made of 500 unique generative gems in the shape of the emerald cut (fxhash.xyz/generative/4449) Artists: Frederik Vanhoutte & Raphaël de Courville Released: April 1st 2022 Medium: p5.js, html canvas, css Format: 2160×2160pixels
