Description

A portrait of my next door neighbor (at the time) and dear friend, Molly. This was taken in the Summer of 1974, in Columbus, Indiana. Molly dropped by one night asking if I would take some naughty photos of her that she could send to her boyfriend, Justin, who was away on extended business out in California. She missed him and wanted to send him something for his upcoming birthday. Of course, I agreed. After all, she brought with her a six-pack of High Life and a fifth of Jim Beam. The 'photo shoot' quickly devolved into drunken hilarity as we dived deeper into our cups. We were both giggling like school children on a trip to Disney World. Molly kept running around the house in search of props. It became increasingly hard to operate, let alone focus the camera (as evidenced by this outtake). I awoke the next morning alone on the studio floor, head in hand with a massive hangover, wondering just what the hell had happened the night before. It became clear later that day after I developed the exposed rolls and printed out a few contact sheets. In the end, Molly and I selected some passable frames for Justin and got them off in time for his birthday. He loved them and asked to have a couple of the prints enlarged. Over time, Molly and I lost contact with one another. I recently heard from a mutual friend that Molly passed away a few years back. She was a breath of fresh air with a heart of gold, full of grace, life and curiosity. She was always up for a dare and never spoke ill of anyone. I miss her and will always remember the fun times we shared together. I don't post nude or revealing images of close friends unless I have their approval and permission to do so. However, I'm sure Molly would approve of this listing if she were here... as a tribute of sorts, to her, our friendship and the laughs we had on that hot Summer's night in Columbus.
