Description

The digital sculpture was initially inspired from "Chained Prometheus" sculpture by Nicolas-Sébastien Adam. However, the concept behind is neither inspired nor focused on the Greek Myth of Prometheus. Instead, the intention was to recreate a sculpture with female figures depicting the representation of women historically as well as the present. Whether it's Medusa from the Greek Mythology or Tiamat from the Babylonian mythology, powerful female figures were often portrayed as a threat. The striking similarities between the past and present - mythology and reality are appalling. At the present time, and in a changing world - will women manage to break free from the social, religious and patriarchal constraints; or will we become another figure chained to man-made mountains and skyscrapers?
